WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a method of healing that dates about 2500 years. It is around 19th century it has been discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in  Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy. Reiki is a natural and spiritual Japanese system use for self-healing, for healing people and for personal growth development. It is a step to help you open up in all areas of your life. It is there to help you energize your creativity, and to help you break down your blocks to both giving and receiving abundance.  Reiki won't have any side-effects or interact with any other medication or treatment.

Reiki can help TO BALANCE:

Our daily lives are stressful and our bodies are starving for energy and balance. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. It unblocks what is blocked in your chakras. A Reiki session can help release tension and stress and can help balancing the body and mind to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels:  physical, mental, and emotional. Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice that relaxes you and leaves you calm, rested and energised. During a Reiki session, you will feel calm and relaxed; you`ll breathe more deeply and your heart rate will slow down. After the session, you will feel rested and energised. It is an energy infusion that you have to experience to understand and appreciate.

Whether you are in need of some general relaxation; or are coping with an illness, injury; chronic pain or headaches, Reiki can offer a great sense of comfort and relief.  Reiki sessions are a complement to any other traditional or alternative therapy. 

Reiki sessions simply enhance your body’s healing abilities; allowing your body to cope and heal more effectively.

Important Notes: If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapy. Reiki can be used in combination with standard western medicine and not as a replacement. There are no known contraindications to Reiki when used.

Reiki session, what to expect:

 Preparing for an in-person session is basically similar with preparing for a distance healing to optimal Energetic Healing

Before we start:

Your session will begin with a brief conversation regarding any issues you may wish to address.  You feel comfortable to share. Reiki therapy works to balance your whole body; which in turn will focus your healing on the areas where it is needed.  Please remove all your jewelry prior to your visit and to turn off your cell phone.

The session:

Reiki sessions are performed while you are fully clothed lying on your back on a massage table or sitting in a chair as well.  The practitioner will lay her hands gently on several positions on your body, resting for two to five minutes in each position. The session lasts between 30 and 60mn; the practitioner will gently let you know when it is over and ask you to sit up slowly. 

During the Reiki session, you may feel either a hot or a cold sensation, or even a vibration or tingling in specific areas or throughout your body. You will also feel a deep sense of relaxation.  Some people will also fall asleep which is perfectly fine. 

After your session:

There will be a short discussion after the session and shortly following your treatment to go over any observations you and the practitioner made during the session. You and your practitioner will wrap up the session by sharing any observations that you have about the treatment.

Scheduling a free initial phone consultation gives you the opportunity to ask questions and learn about our service before deciding whether to commence therapy. We offer a FREE introductory chat via Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom or a phone call. Then, we can choose weekly times to suit you and we can connect with you visually or in person (in a office or during a walk). This makes working together more interactive as we teach you all about how Mindfulness practice works.
